Pikes Peak Snowshoe Saturday February 25 9:00 am – 5:00 pm This moderate 3-4 mile snowshoe trip to Horsethief Park on the west side of Pikes Peak will emphasize learning and practicing basic snowshoe techniques while enjoying the great out-or-doors in one of our National Forests. Bring lunch, water, and clothing suitable for the weather conditions. Participants will need to bring their own (or rented) snowshoes, ski poles and suitable footwear. Browns Canyon proposed Wilderness day hike Saturday March 17 7:30 am to 6:00 pm Hike the newly-constructed BLM trail from Ruby Mountain amidst canyons and rock spires just east of the Arkansas River south of Buena Vista. This moderate trip will cover about 6 miles on gently sloped, lower elevation terrain, gaining less than 1,000 feet in elevation. We will hear the latest news about the campaign to permanently protect this BLM Wilderness Study Area and adjacent Forest Service roadless land.
