Executive Director Job Description
Wild Connections seeks a full time Executive Director for the daily management of the organization, including fundraising, financial management, work planning, staff supervision, and program oversight. Salary is commensurate with background and experience (starting range $38,000-$45,000).

The Executive Director is responsible for the daily management of the organization, including fundraising, financial management, work planning, staff supervision, and program oversight
. 
 

Organizational Administration
The Executive Director directs all fundraising activities, including grant writing, major donor solicitation and special events. The Executive Director develops the annual budget, oversees all income and expenditures, monitors budget, and compiles internal and external fiscal reports that complies with audit expectations in accordance with accepted accounting procedures. The Executive Director is responsible for all fiscal, grant and board documentation and reporting requirements, including public education through annual organizational reports and other communication tools. The Executive Director is responsible for all administrative duties including staff and office management. The Executive Director will work with the Board of Directors to meet all legal and ethical obligations of the non-profit organization.

Board Communication and Development
The Executive Director works in close partnership with the Board to manage the health and direction of the organization.

Program Administration
The Executive Director leads the Board in revising the strategic plan, establishing associated program goals and priorities, identifying and acquiring resources, ensuring successful program implementation, and reporting on and evaluating programs. 

Communication
The Executive Director represents Wild Connections to the public. This includes making presentations at conferences, interacting with the media, developing solid relationships with key decision-makers such as politicians and agency heads, and overseeing outreach vehicles such as the website and newsletter. The Executive Director is responsible for managing our contact data base, and working closely with organizational partners including other members of the Southern Rockies Conservation Alliance,

Requirements
The successful candidate will demonstrate competency in the following areas:
-Communicates effectively in both written and oral formats
·Has proven experience in fundraising, supervising staff, overseeing budgets, and board relations
·Builds trusting relationships and partnerships
·Thinks strategically in both short and long term
·Enjoys being visionary but is grounded in reality
·Understands basic conservation biology and ecology principles.
·Has passion for wildlands protection

Qualifications
·Minimum BS/BA; MS/MA/JD preferred
-Educational and/or professional background in conservation biology, land use/management, ecology, related fields, or non-profit management with experience in environmental organizations.
-Proven success as a fundraiser and manager
·Experience in program/organizational management, issue campaign development, and public relations
·Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
·Self-directed, thoughtful, and innovative thinker.

Job Location

The Executive Director may perform tasks at any location in the two watersheds in south-central Colorado that is acceptable to the Board of Directors.

The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors.  Salary is c
