Roadless Areas of South-Central Colorado A report on roadless areas in the mountain headwaters of the South Platte and Arkansas Rivers 2008 by Wild Connections
The roadless areas of this region sweep eastward from the Sawatch and Sangre de Cristo Ranges to the foothills of the I-25 corridor, and from Mt. Evans and the Continental Divide to Spanish Peaks. They form a network of wildlife habitat, clean water sources and recreation opportunities. In this report, Wild Connections discusses their many values and describes the location and boundaries, ecological values and conservation and community values of more than 80 individual roadless areas. Maps showing the boundaries as inventoried by Wild Connections, as well as the 2001 Roadles Area Conservation Rule and the proposed 2008 Colorado Roadless Rule bundaries are included.
