Who we are
Wild Connections is a network of people who are dedicated to protecting the network of wildlands that will sustain biodiversity, wildlife and wildlife habitat for our own and future generations.  Volunters, the Board and staff work toward these long rang goals for the next 25 years:

  • Restore, connect, monitor and protect a network of public and private lands necessary to ensure the viability of native species, wildlands and natural processes in the Upper Arkansas and South Platte watersheds.
  • Foster the interest, knowledge, and ability of citizens and local groups to provide an effective voice for wildlands at the regional and community levels.
  • Continually improve our strategies by incorporating the best available science and field data.

We focus on the moutain headwaters of the Arkansas and South Platte Rivers, spanning the landscape from Mt. Evans, the Continental Divde and Holy Cross Wilderness on the north, along the Sawatch and Sangre de Cristo Ranges on the west, through the Rampart Range and Wet Mountains on the east, and to the Spanish Peaks and Culebra Range on the south.

The public lands of the Pike-San Isabel National Forest and the Royal Gorge Resource Area of BLM are the primary focus for advocacy, but we have a growing interest in state and county open spaces and the many private landowners who are interested in protecting their natural areas.
